Come Black Home

is an educational program designed to combat the growing wealth gap in the Black community by working to increase home ownership rates. Every quarter of the year (4 times per year) we host workshops where we empower future homeowners by teaching them the benefits of home-ownership, how to become a homeowner & the precautions they can take to keep their home beyond the closing table! Black home ownership in Michigan alone has dropped more than any other state by 11 percentage points, according to a 2018 article in the Detroit Free Press. This is a huge problem since numerous studies show that obtaining home-ownership not only offers a secure way to build wealth but social & economic benefits inside of our communities as well. This is why one of our goals is to implant the thought of purchasing a home into future millennial homeowners/investors by showing just how realistic it can be to own with the right tools! All of our partners are community driven and volunteer their skills & knowledge in exchange for Quality leads and increasing local knowledge for people who may not typically have access to this information.

This activity is conducted by local real estate, mortgage & title professionals along with the CBH team at varying locations throughout the community.
