Summer Youth Business Ownership

YB2.jpeg

For 4 weeks every summer we select a group of high school students and partner them up with trade professionals for our business ownership intern program. During these 4 weeks we pick a particular trade to teach students. In addition to learning the trade they also learn how things are ran on the business end. As they learn the trade and learn the business they are given an opportunity at the end of the course to start their own business as we assist them with registering their business and filing for their articles. Classes are 4 days a week 5 hours a day for 4 weeks. Average class size is 10 students.

This activity is conducted by Local business owners at their place of business depending on the type of business chosen for the summer.

This activity furthers our exempt purpose by encouraging self sufficiency through connecting the youth to resources related to business ownership. This program relates to community & financial accountability.
